Setting up a Mahjong Board
Before any game begins the tiles for Mahjong need to be shuffled. This can be accomplished in many ways and you should follow what feels right to you. Sliding the tiles around on the table prior to the start of the game is the most common method of shuffling.
The next step is to determine who is going to be the dealer. This is done by having each player throw three dice. The player with the highest total on their dice wins and becomes the dealer.
After the rolling of the dice each player picks out their tiles to form their hand.
